Religious views of Ancient Egypt

Since 3000 BC the official religion of Egypt said that the pharaoh was the son of the sun god Ra and in such way the pharaoh was the god. There were a lot of other gods and goddesses under the power of which all natural phenomena were.
Well organised and well-planned priests caste created different families of gods the majority of which were probably local gods first.
Usually Egyptians paid attention to the gods connected with the Nile and the sun as well as with the other world. During the Ancient Kingdom the sun god Ra was the supreme god. Ra had to bring immortality to the whole country through pharaoh that was his son.
The sun was considered to be immortal as well as in many other mythologies of the world. After all the sun was born in the morning travelled in the sky and died in the evening. And the next day the sun was born again. In such way the sun was passing the immortal way. Moreover the sun also played an important role in the agriculture of Ancient Egypt. So as pharaoh was the son of the sun, then the prosperity of the country was guaranteed. Ra was also the base of the moral order in the country.
The temples of Ancient Egypt were not just the places of making the religious cult but also the centres of social, intellectual, cultural and economic life of people. During the epoch of the Middle Kingdom during the ruling of the Egyptian Emperors the temples were even greater than the pyramids.
