Animals as gods
The strange rituals of Ancient tribes and especially of Ancient Egypt are connected with the worship of animals. And numerous rituals dedicated to animals make people think about such origins. After all they appeared not because ancient people were afraid of animals. Person is able to win the battle even with the strongest animal thanks to the mind and intellect. Then why do Egyptians tried to make themselves to be like animals building sculptures of sphinx with the body of lion and the head of the person?
The Ancient Egyptians valued animals not for their strength. After all there were also animals with no power at all such as fishes and mice. Ancient people saw the image of very important sky phenomena in them. As the whole every-day life of people depended on the sun that is why all cults were connected with the sky and the sun. The cult of the sun was the most popular on our planet. People watched the movement of the sun and priests notified people about the next solar cycles. And the life of people, the agriculture, the time of collecting harvest, etc. depended on these cycles.
The astrological zodiacs were the reflection of animals in the sky. And the denominations of zodiacs keep the mysteries of rituals and cults connected with the worship of animals. In such way Ancient Egyptians put animals not only on the sky but also made gods have the heads of animals accentuating the important function of these creatures.
